Texas Tailgates and Watch Parties

In the fall of 2024 our club took over two tailgate spaces for the home football games of The University of Texas at Austin Longhorns.

This started out as a tailgate of friends and Longhorn fans, mostly members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies, that had been in continuous operation since the early 1990s. This tailgate and the group of people who have participated in or helped sustain it was a little piece of Austin and UT history that would have been a shame to lose when the previous organizer retired and moved away, so our club members saw an opportunity to preserve a tradition and enhance the visibility of our club in the community.

Club members, friends, and guests enjoy a few hours was grilling before the game, some people leave to watch the game at the stadium, and others hang out to watch the game on TV. Each week we designate a fundraising beneficiary and have supported Out Youth, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas, the CKI Club of The University of Texas at Austin, and our sponsored Key Clubs.

2025 Schedule – Kickoff Times

• September 6 @ 11am – Texas vs San Jose State (we’ll start at 9am)
• September 13 @ 3:15pm – Texas vs UTEP
• September 20 @ 7pm – Sam Houston
• November 1 @12pm – Texas vs Vanderbilt
• November 22 TBD – Texas vs Arkansas
• November 28 @ 6:30pm – Texas vs A&M

Come find us at the Southeast corner of MLK Jr. Blvd and San Jacinto Blvd. Our official start is usually three hours before kickoff.
