Kiwanis Butterfly Festival

The annual Austin Kiwanis Butterfly Festival began in 2018 as one-day chance to walk with hundreds of butterflies, contained in a temporary exhibit, set with local flowering plants provided by a local nursery. Once inside the butterfly habitat, nectar sticks held by our “butterfly wranglers” will draw the beautiful, delicate creatures to families and kids of all ages for closer observation.

Free face-painting, coloring, lessons from butterfly/plant experts, silent auction, and other engaging activities to enjoy will take place around the butterfly habitat.

The club planned to hold the next event in the fall of 2019, but was approached by Winn Montessori to hold an event in spring 2020 instead. Plans were placed on hold during the pandemic, but we were thrilled to bring it back in 2023 by co-hosting the Winn Butterfly Experience!
