Our Work

Projects and Activities

Our Kiwanis club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.

Below are the projects and activities in which we are currently involved:

  • The Character Network’s The Beginning of a Hero / Bully Alert for Pecan Springs Elementary School
  • Library/literacy support for Winn Elementary School
  • Dental support for low income families in partnership with Sacred Heart Community Clinic
  • Boy Scouts of America, Capital Area Council – Packs 37 and 551
  • Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs
  • Builders Club of Austin Achieve Public School (currently inactive)
  • Key Club International of:
  • Manor New Tech High School,
  • Cedars International Next Generation High School,
  • McCallum High School,
  • Glenn High School,
  • Rouse High School,
  • Vandegrift High School,
  • and NYOS Charter School (currently inactive)
  • Circle K International of Austin Community College (currently inactive)
  • Kiwanis One Day – a single day of service held each November for Kiwanis Clubs and their sponsored service leadership programs to serve together
  • Mary Bailey Head Start Center in Georgetown, TX playground and grounds cleanup and enhancement with new sensory boards.

Past Projects

  • Model Club Status by raising $9,000 for The Eliminate Project – Kiwanis International’s worldwide service initiative in partnership with UNICEF to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus.
