William was born in the village of Sapli-Sépingo in northeastern Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast). Once he finished his elementary school education, he was sent to middle school 40 miles from his native village to Bondouko. Since his middle school days when he was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church, he’s maintained a strong connection with his faith. After completing high school, he joined the Navy of the Ivory Coast and trained in Toulon, France. In February of 1992, William emigrated to the United States, studied English and Nursing, and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. He has worked in several nursing homes in San Antonio, McKenna Memorial Hospital in New Braunfels, Gracy Woods Nursing Center, Saint David’s Medical Center, and Round Rock Medical Center.
Upon becoming a U.S. citizen in 2006, he returned to France to revisit areas where he spent his younger years. He’s also had the chance to travel to Europe again in 2011; this time visiting France, Italy, and England.
Since 2006, he’s worked as a home health nurse with Austin-based Gilead Home Health. He enjoys the home setting and the opportunity to develop friendships with some of his clients/patients.
William is married to Maria Corazon. She is from the Philippines and they share a home in Pflugerville with Maria’s son, Paul Viray. William has one daughter, Olga Boitenin, who has a son PRINCE Charles. A native French speaker, William is also moderately fluent in Spanish.
In his free time, William enjoys travelling, working out at 24 Hour Fitness, taking yoga classes, and when he’s not working on Sundays, attending mass at St. William Catholic Church in Pflugerville. Faith is important to the family and they enjoy the presence of the Lord in their lives.
We’re an organization of volunteers serving the community and children of greater Austin, Texas.
As we commemorate this Martin Luther King Jr Day, we’re grateful to our Cedar Park and Leander community supporters, including our newest one this year, @serenitea_cup, for their participation in our flag program!
Donations from the program support our sponsored Key Clubs and service projects across the area.
We were thrilled to have Audrey from @fostervillageaustin join us at our meeting last night to tell us about the innovate work they’re doing in Austin and across the country to support families and children in the foster care system. We’re looking forward to opportunities to get involved!
In a surprise during our conversation, we learned that she discovered her love of service when she was the charter club president of @mnthskeyclub!
We also had a late presentation to Howard Friedman as our outstanding new member for the 2024-25 year! Since joining he’s been a regular at meetings, volunteers with us at the Ronald McDonald House, and at the butterfly festival at Winn.
Grateful for the @thejuniorleagueofaustin letting us come out and help sort coats for kids with other amazing organizations, we were able to sort over 3000+ coats for kids! They will hand out over 30k coats back to our community so we are happy to play a small part in that process!
